Briefing:
We had two guests at this meeting. “Purple” Dave Laswell (known for his Bionicle themed website Mask of Destiny). And Jin-Kyu Park a student at U of M. Lots of members brought new and old creations. Also there was a brief business portion of the meeting where we discussed some upcoming opportunities for future shows. Peter, as our newly elected President, brought a gavel with him on a lark. Everyone was pretty amused and refused to adjourn the business meeting, until he used it again. David recently made a trip to the UK and was able to partake of LEGO’s new ‘Pick-a-Brick’ program at LegoLand Windsor. Among other items, he got more 1×2 police tiles than you can shake a stick at.
Creations:
1. Steve Ringe brought an incredible, 2 foot long 1970s(?) Chevy pickup, a double baseplate Moonbase hangar facility and a jumbo jet.
2. Stefan brought an array of 8-wide trains.
3. Andrew Jager’s new spaceship.
4. Rick brought the beginning of his new capital ship, which promises to use up all the tubing available on Bricklink, and his nearing completion Sentinel from the Matrix.
5. David brought a new car for his El track.
6. Spencer brought a 6-wide yellow taxi.
7. “Purple” Dave debuted his new Bionicle Wars EyeGee 8OA8 and had a host of other Bionicle creations, including an amazing red & orange dragon.
8. Lester brought a prototype of part of a building he’s designing in LDraw.
9. Chris brought his Flatiron Building. (This building is still in progress.)
