Briefing:
By Jim Garrett
This meeting was held at the Steve Wieser home in Garden City, Michigan.
NMRA Planning
Chris showed the latest printout of the MichLTC layout for the NMRA National Train Show this July in Detroit.
It looks to be our largest layout EVER!
Track Ballesting
One of the goals of the club is to have all mainline track ballested in time for the NMRA show. A prior "biuld part" had got about a third of the way there so we continued the effort at the meeting.
The ballesting consists of putting many 1x2 plates (black, dark gray, light gray, light-blue gray, and very light gray) onto the baseplate or on larger plates in specific patterns.
Very tedious but the result looks good.
MOCs
Club members presented several new MOCs, all in minfig scale except where noted:
- Pewabic Tile (Peter Gunther)
- Griswold Building (James Garrett)
- Various vehicals including updated Plymouth Prowler (Dave Laswell)
- Restaurant (Mitchell Greenstein)
Both Steve Ringe and I brought the new Corner Cafe Lego sets fully constructed, we connected them together to demonstrate the modular design (which will be more useful when more sets are released by the Lego company)
Peter's Pewabic Tile building was later installed in a display case at the real Pewabic Tile company in Detroit.
Business
Other than discussion of NMRA National Train Show and ballesting, there was no official business at this meeting.
The meeting closed around 5:30.
