Sunday, May 18th:

Set up began at the bright early morning hour of 7:00AM. We were able to get everything up and trains running well before the show opened to the public at 10:00AM. Unlike a few shows we have attended, the crowd did not flow in like a wave, but trickled in like a light rain. Chris had a building to repair, as the trip to Durand that morning had a few unexpected "High-G turns". Rumor has it that a few pieces are still rolling around the back of his new minivan.

Once the show got going, members split their time between checking out the enumerable dealers, running the trains, and manning the sales table. Sets were owned by a few individual members with a portion of the sales going to the club's treasury. This layout featured models by Jason, Chris, and Larry. The plan was just a minor deviation on our Curious Kids Museum show in March. This was our first time as a club to repeat a layout and feelings were mixed about whether we should do it again. Nik demonstrated his modelmaking prowess working on quite a few alternate models and mad traindriving skillz, avoiding accidents by astute and sure footed controller manipulation.

Teardown was quick and simple.  We actually set a new record, managing to get everything in the vehicles in just over thirty minutes. After which we left the Durand Middle School and headed over to the Durand Union Station. We received a tour of the museum facility and made some good contacts for future participation with the Durand Union Station.
